Football and the holidays go hand in hand for many of us and, when it comes to college ball, few games are as anticipated as this one. Fans watch all season long, speculating on the final match-up and hoping their team makes it.
Gator Bowl, held continuously since 1946, is the sixth oldest college bowl game and the first nationally televised. Jacksonville hosts the game every year and, with the exception of 1994, always has.
2021’s TaxSlayer Bowl is the second in a six-year deal pitting Southeastern Conference anchor teams against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. The game is held on Bill Gay Grounds at TIAA Bank Field, just 30 minutes from the door of our Jacksonville-area hotel, The Club Continental. Spend the day cheering on your favorite team, then head back to the comforts of your room along the St. James River and ring in the New Year. What fun!

TaxSlayer Gator Bowl 2021 is scheduled for 11am, Friday, December 31st and that’s not all! Fun activities fill the week leading up to the game.

Jan 1, 2022 – Gator Bowl Charities New Year’s Run 5K – 10am
Starts off at the VyStar Veterans Arena in Downtown Jacksonville.
Kick off the New Year with this popular 5K. Participants receive an official race shirt. All finishers receive a custom designed medal and a free mimosa, with awards for top overall and age group winners. This event is an official event of the Jacksonville Grand Prix.
