With New Year’s Eve fast approaching, we find ourselves looking back and reflecting on all that has transpired over the last 12 months, here at our Orange Park Hotel, The Club Continental. Though not without its challenges, it has been a good year and we’ve had a lot of fun sharing the Jacksonville-area with our many guests.
Living where we do, near the Atlantic coast of northeast Florida, there’s no end to the things one can see or do. Florida is a natural paradise and we’re in one of the best spots, here in this beautiful, historic hotel on the banks of the St. Johns River.

Once upon a time it was the private, winter residence of the heir to the Palmolive Soap Company fortune. Now its lush beauty is shared all year ’round with members and guests alike. “A beautiful old Florida jewel … The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous, and feature beautiful swimming pools, stately Spanish moss trees and delightful ponds, one with colorful koi fish and sunbathing turtles! … It reminded me of a visit to Beverly Hills, but much less haughty and far more affordable! We enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the riverfront dining room, and were impressed with the setting, the food and the friendly and efficient server… There are also tennis courts and a cute old pre civil war building now used as a tavern… it looked cozy inside with a glowing fireplace. “This place is beautiful. I knew as soon as I first got there it would be the perfect place for my wedding. The staff is knowledgeable and Carla knew exactly what suggestions to make to bring all the little details together. My day of manager Daniel was wonderful and made sure everything went smoothly. Plus, the food was amazing and they tailor the menu choices to exactly what you want … Overall, the place has the most perfect antique vibe and my guests could not get over how scenic and peaceful everything was right there by the river. “Our experience here was absolutely amazing. The rooms had a beautiful view of the river and the room itself was very clean when we got there. The pools here are great for everyone and the grounds were very clean. We interacted with a lot of the staff and everyone was more than friendly and happy to help in any way possible. Bonnie the manager here went out of her way to make the trip as awesome as it was. I’d absolutely recommend this place to friends and family and anyone in between. “Stayed there for a 3-day house hunting trip to Jax. Was in a River Suite for about the same as a Holiday Inn Express, and it was 10 times better. The setting on the river is amazing, with beautiful sunrises. The included breakfasts were excellent, as were all staff. The grounds are very peaceful with views of the river. Had a great dinner in the dining room one evening, very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back.” Mark – October 2021
Get Set For 2022!
While reviewing the previous year is fun and informative, most of our focus is actually on the road ahead. 2022 is already looking bright. We’ve lots of plans for the coming year and are looking forward to all the returning faces and new people we’ll meet. We sure hope you’re among them.
